We are looking for a Statutory Accountant to strengthen our Finance & Accounting team at our Amsterdam location.

In this role, you will ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting and statutory accounting processes. Where applicable, German GAAP (HGB) knowledge is considered a strong advantage.

You will also have the opportunity to actively contribute your own ideas and improvements, supporting the continuous development and transformation of the accounting function—both from a professional and operational perspective.

What responsibilities can you expect?

Support statutory accounting activities, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB where applicable)
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of accounting processes within a regulated environment
Drive the standardization and further development of closing, statutory reporting, accounting, and account assignment processes
Collaborate closely with Controlling, FP&A, Procurement, Tax, and Settlement teams to ensure integrated financial reporting and process alignment
Act as a key contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
Contribute actively to finance transformation initiatives, with a focus on systems enhancement, automation, and process harmonization

A well-established and robust accounting infrastructure is already in place, providing a strong foundation for further optimization, scalability, and efficiency improvements.

What are we looking for?

University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (additional certification as a certified accountant is a plus)
Several years of professional experience in statutory accounting/general ledger, ideally within the financial services industry or another regulated environment
Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) is a strong advantage, but not a mandatory requirement
Sound understanding of end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) processes
Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA, and digital accounting solutions
High attention to detail combined with a strong ability to understand broader financial and business contexts
