You will be joining around 25 colleagues in the Client Risk department who are passionate and motivated in what they do. You will be reporting to the Head of Client Risk and leading a team of 6-10 Risk managers. We aim to grow to eight million customers by 2025. Helping keep DEGIRO safe and able to sustain our clients’ needs is critical to our success. To achieve this, you will be able to work in collaboration with your team and other departments on optimizing risk processes and systems on real-time risk handling. All teams are very open and approachable. They will support you in gaining new skills and knowledge.

What you will be responsible for:

As a Team Lead you will be responsible for:
Delegating/assigning tasks and projects and set deadlines for your internal team;
Work on development of your team members and the team as a whole
Setting clear team goals together with Head of Client Risk
Communicating the strategic direction of the department (defined by the Head of Client Risk) and departmental and/or company policies to the team;
Oversee day-to-day operation, monitor team performance and report on metrics;
Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts;
Perform performance reviews and give input on reward and recognition for accomplishments;
Creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture; encourage a proactive attitude and ownership;
Work together with recruitment to attract new team members;

In your role as Risk manager you will:

Real time monitor financial markets, trading, limits, and promptly react to any changes or irregularities with appropriate measures;
Manage margin and credit risk, identify and mitigate operational risk, ensure compliance with rules.
Monitor cash flow, as well as assist treasury activities, securities borrowing and lending;
Work in collaboration with other departments on optimizing risk processes and systems;
Assist in the development and improvement of risk measures, reports and policies;
You will monitor and ensure specified rules and regulations are followed;

We are looking for you if you have:

Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics or similar field;
A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience managing a team;
A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial markets;
Excellent command of English;
Familiar with Excel;
Ability to work with VBA and SQL is a plus;
High attention to detail;
Good analytical skills;
Ability to work on a fast-paced environment;
Resilience to stress.
