We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team of 4 DevOps Engineers in Amsterdam and 3 in Germany. In the team you will be managing and optimizing our on-premise infrastructure using a GitOps approach.
You will work with cutting-edge tools such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, and the Grafana monitoring stack to ensure the seamless deployment, monitoring, and automation of our infrastructure and applications.
What you will do
- Optimize platform performance and reliability: Proactively improve the efficiency and dependability of our platform and internal services.
- Automate for efficiency: Champion the reduction of technical debt by building, enhancing, and maintaining tools and scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
- Collaborate on business-critical systems: Work closely with stakeholders to design and develop critical systems that align with business needs and leverage cutting-edge technologies.
- On-call support and incident escalation: Contribute to the on-call rotation to handle outages and be a point of escalation for critical incidents.
- Ensure our deployment working properly: Participate in daily task such are reviewing merge request to deploy on different stages and monitoring them.
- Design and implement private cloud migration strategies: Lead the transition of our services to a private cloud leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Ensure comprehensive monitoring and alerting: Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to maintain platform visibility and proactively address potential issues.
You bring us these skills
- Proven track record of maintaining large, complex, and scalable system infrastructures in a DevOps environment.DevOps Experience (3+ years): Proven track record of maintaining large, complex, and scalable system infrastructures in a DevOps environment.
- Kubernetes Expertise (2+ years, On-Prem preferred): Proven track record of maintaining large, complex, and scalable system infrastructures in a DevOps environment.
- Strong understanding and experience applying CI/CD practices with tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, ArgoCD, Nexus OSS, and Harbor.
- Expertise in configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Crossplane) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Solid foundation in Linux administration, including networking and troubleshooting skills.
- Programming skills in at least one language (Python, Go, Bash) for scripting automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging systems like Prometheus, EFK (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana), or the LGTM Stack.
- Ability to bridge the gap between developers and stakeholders, understanding developer needs and effectively explaining complex concepts.
- Familiarity with projects within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Landscape.
Nice to have skills
- Experience working with distributed storage systems like Ceph or Rook.
- Knowledge of the Envoy proxy for service mesh implementations.
- Experience with container and Kubernetes security tools like RHACS (Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security) or Kyverno.
- Familiarity with the Keycloak identity and access management (IAM) system.
