The Co-Head of Credit Risk Management (Retail) is responsible for the oversight, management, and continuous development of our retail credit risk processes, with a particular focus on making the area future-proof through transformation, automation, and scalable operating models. The role covers credit monitoring, collateral management, margin processes, and risk mitigation across the retail portfolio and our trading system, while contributing to the strategy, governance, and overall performance of the Credit Risk Management department together with the complementary Co-Head (Wholesale) and other stakeholders.
What tasks can you expect with us?
- Lead the area by setting clear direction, driving execution, and developing the Credit Risk Management teams in a high-performance, collaborative, and innovative environment.
- Oversee retail credit monitoring processes, including margining, collateral sufficiency, client deficits, and risk mitigation measures.
- Ensure effective collateral management, including margin calls, client communication, and position closing where required.
- Further develop and implement retail credit risk mitigation strategies, including margin and haircut methodologies.
- Monitor collateral quality and adherence to collateral agreements and ensure timely escalation or execution where necessary.
- Drive the future-proofing of the retail credit risk area through process transformation, automation, scalable solutions, regulatory initiatives, and risk-related projects.
- Motivate and develop the team by fostering a growth mindset, continuous learning, and a strong culture of ownership, improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
What do we want from you?
- Master’s degree or PhD in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Extensive professional experience in banking credit risk management, with a strong focus on retail credit risk, collateral management, and margin processes.
- Strong understanding of retail credit risk, financial markets, brokerage, collateral arrangements, and securities-backed lending or margin-related processes.
- Excellent English communication and reporting skills
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate, develop, and grow teams through change while combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Strong track record in driving transformation, automation, and scalable operating models in a risk or financial services environment.
- Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align risk management with business objectives
